Requirements for current students
The following information applies to you if you are currently enrolled in this degree program. Current students should check this website for updates regularly — at least once a semester.
Program of study
Once you are enrolled, complete your Program of Study (M-1) form. Complete and submit this form before the end of your second semester in the program.
You will take your comprehensive exams, or comps, either the semester you plan to graduate or the prior semester. Contact your adviser to sign up for comps.
If you are not otherwise enrolled in classes in the semester in which you intend to take comps, you can enroll in MISC 8999 Graduate Examination.
Comps are scheduled each semester:
- Fall, third Friday in October
- Spring, third Friday in March
- Summer, second Friday in June
You will receive four essay questions by email. You will have two weeks to answer the questions, using course materials and professional resources.
If you do not pass comps, you will have one chance to remediate. If remediation fails, you will need to take comps again the following semester.
Submit an application for graduation to Graduate Studies very early in the semester in which you hope to graduate.
