Now that you’re ready to start learning, we will connect you with everything you need, from tools to textbooks. Our goal is to provide you with a simple, smooth experience so you can put your energy into your courses. 

Computer requirements

Computer? Check. Modern web browser. Check. Working internet connection? Check. Once you’ve got the basics, we’ll walk you through a few more details so you can sign in to your courses with confidence.

Student information system

Your student information system is where you turn to handle any administrative tasks. This includes confirming your student account information, checking on your financial aid or updating your course schedule.

User ID/Email

Your User ID enables you to access your email, online courses and other University resources from anywhere with an internet connection. 

Textbooks

Your university’s bookstore helps make sure online students like you can find the right editions of your textbooks, and they’ll even help you sell them back if you choose.

Canvas

You will find your courses in the Canvas learning management system.

To access your courses through Canvas please follow these steps:

  1. Log on to Canvas.
  2. You will sign in with your User ID and password.
  3. After signing-in you will see your Canvas dashboard with your favorite courses listed.
  4. Your dashboard also shows you any upcoming calendar items and access to view your grades.
  5. The left side of the screen shows the Canvas global navigation. This gives you access to the main Canvas functions such as your courses, calendar and inbox.
  6. Access a course by clicking on one of the cards in your dashboard or through the global navigation "Course" menu.
  7. Each course has its own navigation menu that gives you access to that course's modules, discussions, grades, syllabus and other features.
  8. The modules section will give you access to the course's resources, assignments, quizzes, pages, etc. for your course.
