Courses are semester-based. Students typically take two classes each semester session and finish the program in one year.

Further your education

If you choose to continue your education, this program offers a seamless transition from graduate certificate to a master’s in accountancy (MAcc) or business (MS). Please note that while the graduate certificate in assurance may prepare you for the audit section of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam, the master’s in accountancy or business will provide the necessary hours to sit for the certification.

Professor Hockman holds a CPA certificate in the State of Missouri. Prior to teaching full-time at Mizzou, She worked in the Audit/Assurance practice of KPMG LLP in Kansas City for three and a half years. She currently teaches Accountancy 8444 (Advanced Audit).

Tim Hurley, LLM, is an associate teaching professor of accounting with a specialization in taxation. Before joining Mizzou, he was the program chair of accounting at Franklin University. Professor Hurley has experience in a law firm and has several years of work experience in corporate accounting and tax at medium-sized and large corporations.
