The online TESOL programs at MU are designed for:
33 credit hours. If you are currently teaching or are interested in teaching English as a second/foreign language (ESL/EFL) in a variety of educational settings, the online M Ed in TESOL is for you. GRE scores required.
18 credit hours. This option is designed for applicants who already hold a master's degree. Upon completion of the certificate, you will be prepared to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults in the United States or to teach English as a Foreign language (EFL) abroad. GRE scores not required.
21 credit hours. Designed for licensed Missouri educators who wish to obtain an add-on certificate in ESOL. The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has approved MU to offer courses that lead to certification in the state of Missouri. GRE scores not required for post-baccalaureate (nondegree-seeking) students.
Online graduate students at MU pay in-state tuition regardless of where they live. We also offer 10-percent tuition reduction awards for veterans, active duty service members, Reservists, National Guardsmen, and military spouses and dependents who want to study online.
TESOL programs at MU are 100 percent online: no campus visits are required. Take the courses when you choose, as suits your busy schedule. Most students study part time, taking two classes per semester, and complete their course work in two years or less.
