This stipend serves as an incentive for faculty to complete ET@MO’s Quality Course Review process. ET@MO's Quality Course Review is faculty-centered, completely voluntary, and offered at no cost. Each reviewer has been certified through a quality review training program conducted by Quality Matters, an organization that has developed a best practice-based course review rubric. Learn more at

Award: $1,000 (Up to 15 awards available each semester.)

  • Award applied to professional development activities including conference or webinar registration, books, resources, etc.
  • Instructors may receive the $1,000 stipend for each course for which the Quality Course Review is completed. Limited to one course per semester.
  • The instructor’s academic unit also will receive $250 for each completed Quality Course Review.
  • The incentive does not apply to participation in the Quality Course Review process prior to spring 2016.


Instructors (regular and adjunct) teaching an online (OL) or e-learning (EL) class supported by Mizzou Online are eligible for the $1,000 stipend. All ET@MO requirements apply.

As part of the review, the instructor will receive recommendations to improve his/her class. To receive the $1,000 incentive, the instructor must:

  • Consent to share the recommendations with his/her department chair.
  • Make qualitative changes in the course consistent with the recommendations and share those changes with his/her department chair.
  • Request his/her department chair verify that the changes have been made in the LMS course site.
