Alisa Hayes, MD, wanted to expand the research component of her work as a doctor in the emergency department. Since emergency medicine is a younger specialty, she needed a degree that would give her the tools and support to be successful. The University of Missouri School of Medicine's academic medicine program introduced her to mentors and peers that will help take her research to a new level.
