Courses

Delivery of this program is 100% online: no campus visits are required.

Courses are asynchronous and may include optional synchronous meetings depending on the instructor. Synchronous courses occur at regularly scheduled times. Asynchronous courses do not have regular meetings. They may consist of various media and content — such as online discussions, videos, quizzes and recordings — that students review and complete at the time of their choice.

Practicum

The Office of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships and your program advisor will work with you to locate host teachers at your location. Student teaching placement requires a full-time, 16-week internship in a classroom setting. During student teaching, you will be assigned a Mizzou instructor and/or field supervisor who will meet with you to support all aspects of your teaching, such as lesson planning, lesson implementation and other facets of teaching required for certification. If students are on a provisional certification, they need two years of teaching experience and student teaching will take place within their assigned classroom at the school in which they are employed.
