Mizzou Online is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect two kinds of information on this site:
- Voluntarily supplied information submitted by visitors to this site who seek information about the University of Missouri's online programs and courses.
- Tracking information automatically collected as visitors navigate through the site.
By filling out a form on the Mizzou Online website, you authorize the University of Missouri to contact you by email, telephone or text message regarding Mizzou's educational programs.
This site automatically recognizes and records certain non-personal information, including the name of the domain and host from which you access the Internet; the Internet protocol (IP) address of the computer you are using; the browser software you use and the operating system; the date and time you access this site; and the Internet address of the web site from which you linked directly to this site.
Mizzou Online works with a variety of advertising companies to place advertising on websites across the Internet. These companies collect anonymous information about your visit to our site. You may choose to opt-out of this service by changing Ad Settings on your browser.
If you have submitted your information to Mizzou Online in the process of requesting more information about an online course or program, you can opt out of the emails you receive using links provided in the emails.
How we use this information
We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. We will match your voluntarily supplied personal information to your potential future enrollment information if you choose to enroll. If you do choose to register for classes, that information is submitted and stored by another University of Missouri system called myZou, which is not part of this website.
If you provide information on forms on our site for certain processes, that information is used to complete the process for which the form was intended, e.g. a form for applying for a Mizzou Online tuition award.
We may provide aggregated statistical data about web visitors and prospective students who voluntarily submit their information to reputable third-party vendors, but these data will include no personally identifying information.
Your rights under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Once you become a student at the University of Missouri, your personally identifiable information is protected under the provisions of the federal Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Read more about FERPA.
