Teaching dual credit courses
Students interested in earning English graduate credits toward the requirement for teaching dual-enrollment high school/college English courses have the option of taking electives that count toward those credits.
Delivery of this program is 100 percent online: no campus visits are required. However, you may choose to enroll in electives that require face-to-face meetings on campus.
Successful completion of the program requires 30 credit hours: 9 credit hours in the Learning, Teaching and Curriculum Core, 12 from the English Education Core, and 9 from electives. At least 16 credit hours must be at the 8000 level.
The chart below shows when the courses are traditionally offered. You may take courses in any order. Please note that some courses are offered only in ODD (e.g., 2021) or EVEN (e.g., 2022) years. Courses are 3 credit hours each, unless stated otherwise. The University reserves the right to change or cancel courses as needed.

Prior to acceptance into the program, you may enroll in up to 9 credit hours as a nondegree-seeking (in some cases, post-baccalaureate) student. Enrollment does not guarantee acceptance. Learn more about nondegree-seeking university student admissions.
