How to apply

Fulfill the admission requirements

This graduate certificate program is open to all individuals holding a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering or a hard scientific discipline with an undergraduate GPA ≥ 3.0 in the degree course work. In addition, you must have a minimum of two years of professional work experience, or currently be accepted into a graduate degree program at Missouri S&T.

Gather your papers

  • Statement of purpose should be 2-3 paragraphs explaining why you are applying for this program. Statement is to be submitted electronically on the online application; you'll copy and paste it into the provided text box.
  • Unofficial transcripts are sufficient for an admit decision. Upload your transcripts on the online application under your "Institutional Data." If you previously attended S&T, please email stgrad@mst.edu if you need an unofficial transcript for your application. An unofficial transcript is required for your application to be processed.
  • Official transcripts should be mailed to S&T Admissions:

Complete the online application

When you start a new application, select "Graduate Online/Distance" and then select the certificate program. Don't forget to list your current employer and company location on the application. 

Please note: Letters of recommendation are NOT required for certificate applicants. If prompted for recommendations on the online application please disregard.
