How to apply

Fulfill the admission requirements

This certificate program is open to all individuals who hold a bachelor's, master's or doctorate in an appropriate engineering discipline and who have a minimum of 12 months of post-bachelor's professional employment experience in a related field.

Application dates

This program does not have set deadlines, so you can apply at any time. We do encourage students to apply by the stated dates to ensure their application gets processed in time for the beginning of the semester.

Gather your papers

  • Résumé.
  • Statement of purpose should be 2-3 paragraphs explaining why you are applying for this program. Statement is to be submitted electronically on the online application; you'll copy and paste it into the provided text box.
  • Unofficial transcripts are sufficient for an admit decision. Upload your transcripts on the online application under your "Institutional Data." If you previously attended S&T, please email global@mst.edu if you need an unofficial transcript for your application. An unofficial transcript is required for your application to be processed. 
  • Official transcripts should be mailed to S&T Admissions:

Complete the online application

When you start a new application, select "Graduate Online/Distance" and then select the certificate program. Don't forget to list your current employer and company location on the application. 

Please note: Letters of recommendation are NOT required for certificate applicants. If prompted for recommendations on the online application please disregard.
