Overview

AACSB logo

Managing the development of large software systems is significantly different from managing construction or research projects. However, some of the tools developed for traditional project management continue to have value and can be adapted to development of software.

This certificate is designed to equip students with a set of tools that will enable them to effectively manage the process of developing large software systems. At the same time, it exposes them to Project Management Institute (PMI) standards in the general project management area.

Pathway to a master's degree

Are you a working professional who wants to earn your master's degree, but you don’t have time to take the GRE/GMAT? Then start in a graduate certificate program. This graduate certificate was designed as a pathway to an MBA or information science and technology MS.

The admission requirements are more relaxed and credit earned will count toward your degree. Once you successfully earn your graduate certificate, you can continue with the corresponding master's degree without having to take the GRE/GMAT. Completion of a graduate certificate program does not automatically guarantee admission into a corresponding graduate degree program. To continue in a master’s degree program, you must apply. If you are applying to a PhD program, you are still required to submit GRE/GMAT scores.

Accreditation

Missouri University of Science and Technology is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States.
